EdAdvance Early Childhood Center
In the spring of 2023, construction on EdAdvance's Early Childhood Center in Torrington, CT commenced. This newly constructed facility will provide early childhood education and support for northwestern CT. The space will provide a regional hub for area early childhood educators and families in the greater Torrington area.

Designed with a child-centric approach, the center will be a stimulating environment where young learners ages 0-8 and beyond can thrive. Equipped with cutting-edge resources and home to the EdAdvance Head Start Prenatal to Five program, the center is poised to accommodate up to 101 Head Start children and 32 Early Head Start home-based children. The new space will use the opportunity to expand our 0-5 center-based services.
Our Vision for the Early Childhood Center
The Early Childhood Center is not just a space for structured learning—it's a center that supports the whole child. It will encompass a range of services, from comprehensive early childhood education programs including home visitation services for families, child development screenings, Birth to Three services, parenting support and on-going parent/child learning opportunities. Moreover, it will be a hub for professional development, training, and resources for early childhood educators and providers across the region. The EC Center will have flexible space available to staff and community members. Early Childhood at EdAdvance has deep connections and collaborations in the community and will forge partnerships to build upon this new space to better support young children and families in northwestern CT.

The Early Childhood Center will seek to offer flexible family engagement programs, offered outside regular hours, to promote inclusivity for families with varying schedules. A distinctive partnership between EdAdvance Adult Education and Early Childhood will introduce family literacy programs with specialized assistance for non-English speaking families. Additionally, the center will offer space that will provide comfortable and confidential meeting space for families that are seeking the support services offered by Early Childhood.
