Program staff work closely with families to ensure that each child has the skills and knowledge necessary to be successful in kindergarten. The Early Head Start program provides services to infants, toddlers, and pregnant women in Torrington and Winsted through home visiting and socialization.

Program Information

EdAdvance’s Head Start programs specialize in the comprehensive integration of early childhood education and school readiness programming.

Our Prenatal to Three program, Early Head Start, provides home-based services for expectant families and families with children ages birth to three. Services include weekly home visits as well as playgroups serving New Milford, Torrington, Winsted, and the surrounding Litchfield County families.

Our Three to Five program provides early  childhood and school readiness programming  for children, ages 3-5, and their families at our sites in Torrington, New Milford, and Winsted.

We are dedicated to working in partnership with families and communities to enhance children’s social competence, to provide families with opportunities to grow and develop, and to prepare children to enter kindergarten with the skills and knowledge necessary for success.

Services

Head Start programs support children’s growth from birth to age 5 through a variety of services, including early learning and development, health, and family well-being.

Our programs help children get ready to succeed in school and in life through learning experiences tailored to their current needs and abilities.

These programs may be provided in different settings according to your needs, including family child care locations, or your own home. All Head Start programs serve families from diverse cultural backgrounds and who speak different languages.
