Mission

Aligned with EdAdvance RESC’s mission to support the success of school districts and communities, our schools offer high-quality, cost-effective, specialized alternatives for districts seeking an outplacement or diagnostic setting. We provide students with flexible, customized academic experiences, along with the intensive clinical intervention and support they need to build the readiness and resiliency skills required to navigate mainstream life.

In pursuing this Mission:
  • We believe that our schools’ diverse professional staff and commitment to extensive training enable us to offer academic and clinical programming for an equally diverse student population.

  • We believe that our schools’ purposefully compact designs reduce the environmental distractions and create intimate spaces for students to receive individualized attention, establish healthy relationships and practice skills necessary for learning and personal development.

  • We believe that our schools create opportunities for our students to experience success and utmost independence, which builds their confidence and drives them to achieve more, ultimately shaping a positive trajectory for their future and cultivating a sense of purpose.

  • We believe that our schools’ regular interactions and communication with our students’ families, community providers, and the sending school district help to shape a path for long-term success and overall stability for each of our placements.

Services are provided to students in three locations in Litchfield and Fairfield counties: ACCESS Middle & High School and BEAM (Building Excellence and Motivation) Elementary School in Danbury, Partnership Learning Academy (PLA) in Plymouth, and Steps Middle & High School in Torrington.
