On November 8, 2024, the Connecticut Network for Children and Youth commemorated its 35th anniversary with a gala at the Capital Ballroom of the Hartford Downtown Marriott. The event celebrated the organization’s history and honored individuals whose contributions have significantly advanced the field of afterschool and early childhood programs in Connecticut.
Tracey Lay, Chief Talent & Development Officer at EdAdvance, was recognized for her 36 years of dedication to improving afterschool and youth programs. A longtime leader and advocate, Tracey has served on numerous state and national boards, including the National AfterSchool Association, and has been instrumental in shaping policy and quality standards. Her work with the Network spans decades, including 19 years on its Board of Directors, where she played a key role in its transition from the Connecticut School Age Care Alliance to its current form.
Tracey’s efforts have supported initiatives with the Connecticut State Department of Education and fostered collaboration across state and national organizations. Her leadership has strengthened professional development, social-emotional learning initiatives, and program quality across Connecticut.
The gala also honored Susan Krampitz, a founding member of the Network, whose early leadership set the foundation for its success. The event served as a reflection on decades of progress and as a recognition of the individuals who have driven meaningful change in support of children and families.
The entire EdAdvance team congratulates Tracey on this well-deserved recognition. Her vision and expertise have a direct impact on EdAdvance, influencing the organization’s daily operations. Through her leadership, EdAdvance continues to provide outstanding programs and services that support children, families, and educators throughout the region.
