This 2 day (March 10 & 11, 2026) grade band-specific professional learning session is designed to support K–2 educators in launching the OpenSciEd Elementary science resource with confidence and clarity. Sessions are offered for K–2 and 3–5 (being offered March 25 & 26) grade bands allowing for participants to engage in immersive learning experiences that model OpenSciEd's instructional routines and design, while building deep understanding of their specific grade-level Unit 1.
Throughout the session, educators will explore how OpenSciEd fosters student-driven investigations, sensemaking, and discourse grounded in real-world phenomena. They will reflect on their own instructional practices, gain tools and resources to support planning and facilitation, and begin to build the in-district capacity needed for successful and sustainable implementation.
