School Climate and Mental Health Services
EdAdvance’s School Climate & Mental Health Services department partners with Connecticut schools and districts to strengthen school climate, improve student well-being, and support safe, supportive learning environments where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Our team works collaboratively with school leaders, educators, families, and community stakeholders to develop sustainable systems that promote prevention, intervention, restorative practices, and long-term school improvement aligned with Connecticut School Climate Guidance and Public Act 23-167.

We help districts move beyond reactive responses and toward proactive, relationship-centered systems that improve engagement, strengthen school culture, and create environments where students and staff feel connected, respected, and supported.

Our Mission
Our mission is to help schools build positive, equitable, and emotionally supportive learning communities through evidence-based practices, restorative approaches, social-emotional learning, and strategic school climate planning.

We believe strong school climates are built on positive relationships, meaningful student engagement, collaborative partnerships, and systems that prioritize safety, belonging, accountability, and growth.

Why School Climate Matters
A positive school climate impacts every aspect of the educational experience. Research and statewide guidance consistently demonstrate that healthy school climates contribute to:

-
Improved student engagement
-
Increased academic performance
-
Reduced challenging behaviors
-
Stronger relationships between students, staff, and families
-
Greater emotional well-being
-
Increased teacher satisfaction and retention
-
Safer and more inclusive school environments

When students feel respected, connected, and supported, they are more likely to participate actively in learning, take academic risks, and develop resilience both inside and outside the classroom.
