Fingerprinting EdAdvance Fingerprint Services for School Districts, Magnet Schools, Charter Schools, and Private School Employees Effective January 1, 2025 Due to the rollout of the modernized Criminal History and Fingerprint Identification System effective July 5, 2023, EdAdvance needed to make changes to their protocol on fingerprinting school district, magnet school, charter school and private school employees. Below are steps to follow to get fingerprinted at EdAdvance: Schedule an appointment at our Litchfield location click the Book an Appointment button on this page. Before your scheduled fingerprint appointment, you are required to pre-register via the Connecticut Criminal History Request System “CCHRS” Web Portal. Your school will provide you with the LINK and unique Service Code to pre-register. During pre-registration you will be prompted to pay for the FBI fee ($12.00 for a non-volunteer or $10.00 for a volunteer). If applicable, the $75 State fee would need to be paid. Payment can be made via credit card or other pre-arranged payment plan. Upon completion of payment, the last screen should state you have successfully completed your pre-registration. Immediately after you have completed your pre-registration you will receive an email from CCHRS. Print a hard copy of this email and bring it to your scheduled fingerprint appointment. This email will consist of your Name, Applicant Tracking Number and Bar Code. The fingerprint technician will enter your Applicant Tracking Number into the electronic LiveScan Fingerprint machine to receive a template to fingerprint. Once you are fingerprinted your fingerprints will be forwarded to the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection “DESPP” in Middletown, CT, to complete your State and Federal criminal history background check. The day of fingerprint provide the fingerprint technician with a current government-issued photo ID, like a driver’s license or passport. Come prepared with a credit card, debit card, or money order payable to EdAdvance for EdAdvance’s fingerprint administrative/processing fee. The fee for a school district, charter school or magnet school is $30 and the fee for a private school is $45. (Student teacher’s fee is $30) Before being fingerprinted, the fingerprint technician will have you sign and date a copy of the required FBI’s Privacy Rights and Act Statement in duplicate – one copy for EdAdvance’s file and the other copy for your file. (You only need to refer to this document if something negative comes back from your background check should you want to challenge or appeal the results.)
